A rare and beautiful early 1940s Nivada Waterproof Clamshell cased chronograph with landeron movement and gilt glossy black dial in stunning condition for its age.
The glossy black dial is in excellent vintage condition with stunning large sword lume hands, and luminous, interesting numerals.
The case is in three parts with 4 screws behind each lug clamping the dial, case and movement together creating a waterproofing seal.
The case measures 36.5mm which is considered oversized.
I have only seen one other example of this watch, and Nivada chronographs have become extremely popular of late with their Aviator Chronomaster range from the 60s being reissued.
This is one of their earliest waterproof chronographs and cannot be missed, a rarity for sure.
