  • Dating to the mid-1950s, this Omega Seamaster is a beautifully preserved example of the reference 2937, distinguished by its elegant lyre-lugged case and wonderfully aged “toasted honey” waffle dial. The dial surface has matured into a warm, even patina that collectors actively seek—an unmistakable hallmark of the most characterful early Seamasters.

To the reverse, the watch retains its large Seamaster hippocampus engraving—an unusually bold execution for this era—crisp, intact.

The standout feature of this piece is the striking combination of broad-arrow hands paired against gilt hour markers. While seldom encountered, this hand configuration was indeed an available period option and forms part of the Seachero family of variants. Although we cannot confirm absolute originality of the hands, the pairing is both sympathetic and visually arresting, lending the watch a bold, instrument-grade presence rarely seen on dress-sport Seamasters of the time. The watch features it's original bowler crowm, and is paired with an Omega steel pin buckle.

Overall, it would be hard-pushed to find a more charming honeycomb Seamaster from this period—its warm dial tone, crisp case details, and distinctive hand set combine to create a truly alluring example for the seasoned enthusiast and the discerning collector alike.
