1972 Rolex 1601 Blue Buckley
Fresh to the market: This incredibly uncommon Rolex 1601 "Blue buckley" with inverted X!
Dating from 1972, this Rolex 1601 has a beautiful original blue "Buckley" dial which means the Roman numerals were painted on, not applied. Named after the well known Rolex collector John Buckley, this model was not really well received, but today is rare and quite sought after by collectors.
This example is actually a bit more special, having an inverted 9 dial. The date wheel is alos the original one with open 6 and 9, and 1570 hacking movement.
The stainless steel case is thick and has some light marks, which is preferable to being polished!
The jubill bracelet is in good condition, but the Rolex signed clasp is a later replacement.
The icing on the cake is the pumpkin orange lume in total preservation.
A lovely example, worthy of you collection for sure.
