A fine and well preserved Universal Geneve Uni Compax with rare oversized 38mm Spillmann case. Spillmann manufactured cases for many of the finest Swiss brands. In particular thr first production case for Rolex Oyster with their patented screw down crowns.
This reference is the biggest screwback waterproof case made by Spillmann and features 'turned down' style lugs, and wide pushers.
The base 1000 scale in unblemished and the dial is cream with a nice patina forming on the numerals. The leaf hands are blue steel (seen at certain angles) and have been nicely colour matched to the dial at some stage.
These Uni-Compax are much harder to find than standard square pusher models. And they don't generally age well. The bigger case style is really a plus with these.
The caliber 285 is signed UG and it has been fully overhauled, with a crisp chronograph action, and strong amplitude.
The lower pusher is a replacement as it has a different pusher stem.
A really nice chronograph by one of the best in house brands of the era.
