One of the purist chronographs ever made, this outstandingly preserved Universal Genève Compax 22498 is not often seen, it was featured in an old poster advertisment I found years ago in Lille, France, and when it popped up I simply had to own it, but, like all good things, we are merely custodians for a time, and this piece had to be shared.
The 34.5mm sweet spot size (43mm lug to lug) hugs the wrist with this amazing thick steel case and angle turn down lugs which you know have had some thought. It's as if the watch is ready to take off from your wrist at any moment ! A real aficionados chronograph.
We are simply spoilt by the condition of the dial here, very seldom seen in this shape due to the age and also the snap back case design tended to let moisture creep in over time, not here.. It is immaculate for something over 80 years of age!
The movement as you would expect is stunning, Caliber 285 with all the bells & whistles, the finish is so beautiful.
The watch is fully serviced and ready to wear!
