  • Up for sale is a truly special and very early Omega Seamaster Chronometer, featuring an exceptionally rare matte albino white dial and housed in solid 18K gold. These were produced in very small numbers and are seldom encountered, particularly in this precious metal case and in such remarkable original condition.

What immediately sets this watch apart is the case. The beefy lug Seamaster construction gives it a completely different character on the wrist from the finer, more delicate Constellation cases of the same era. It has real heft, real presence, and feels every bit the substantial early chronometer it was intended to be.

Powering the watch is the chronometer-rated bumper automatic movement, adjusted to five positions and temperatures, with that wonderfully tactile half-rotor action that you can genuinely feel as the watch moves with the wrist. It is one of those charming old-world traits that constantly reminds you that you are wearing a real piece of horological history.

The dial is absolutely gorgeous. A beautifully preserved matte white surface with elegant crosshair layout, early Seamaster script, faceted applied gold hour markers, and rich original lume that has developed a deep, attractive tone with age. The overall aesthetic is restrained, refined, and unmistakably from Omega’s golden era.

These early Seamaster Chronometers rarely come to market at all, and to find one in 18K gold, with this dial, and in such untouched all-original condition, is extraordinarily difficult. Quite simply, this is one of the best examples we have seen and a watch that would be incredibly hard to replace once gone
