Ebel 1911 La Modular Chronograph – Blue Two-Tone Dial – Full Set

A beautiful example of the Ebel 1911 La Modular, dating from the 1990s, and a wonderful representation of the distinctive design language that made Ebel such an important name in Swiss watchmaking.

This particular example features a stunning two-tone blue sunburst dial, with a wonderful play of light across its surface that gives the watch tremendous depth and character. The original tritium luminous material has developed an attractive pumpkin-toned patina over time, adding a further layer of individuality and vintage appeal. This degree of colour transformation is particularly appealing on neo-vintage watches, and examples displaying such character are not always easy to find.

The watch is housed in a beautifully proportioned 39mm case and retains its original, unmistakable lobster-style bracelet and clasp. The bracelet is arguably one of Ebel’s most recognisable design features, combining comfort, presence and an elegance that remains distinctive even today. It offers a generous fit and will comfortably accommodate a larger wrist.

Condition is exceptional. The case appears beautifully preserved and, importantly, retains its original brushed and polished finishes, with the transitions between surfaces remaining crisp and well defined. The cylindrical mushroom-style chronograph pushers are also particularly attractive, complementing the overall architectural design of the watch.

Supplied as a fantastic full set, the watch comes complete with its original Ebel box and service papers.

Ebel watches are enjoying renewed appreciation among collectors, particularly for their innovative bracelet designs, exceptional dial quality and distinctive case architecture. Here at Vision Vintage, we have always had a particular

affection for the 1911 collection. The 39mm proportions, beautifully executed bracelet and the wonderful patina that can develop on these neo-vintage examples make them incredibly appealing.

A genuinely beautiful and increasingly interesting piece of 1990s Swiss watchmaking, offering something a little different from the usual suspects.
