Up for sale is a truly stunning 1950s Movado reference 205142, beautifully preserved in 18ct rose gold and originally produced for the Argentinian/South American market.

This is an exceptional example of the quality and elegance found in Movado’s mid-century dress watches. The beautifully preserved dial features distinctive faceted, sharp-toothed hour markers, elegant dauphine hands, subsidiary seconds and a finely detailed perlage-style seconds track around the outer edge of the dial.

The wonderfully slim 34mm 18ct rose-gold case is beautifully proportioned, with an integrated crown and traditional snap-back construction. On the wrist, it has all the understated elegance you would expect from a high-quality 1950s Swiss dress watch.

What makes this example particularly special, however, is its remarkable completeness. The watch retains its original strap, original Movado buckle, original hang tag and even its original presentation box. Finding a watch approaching 70 years old with these accompanying pieces still together is exceptionally uncommon.

This really is a time-capsule Movado. The condition, originality and completeness make it unlikely that another reference 25070 will surface quite like this.

At 34mm and exceptionally slim, it sits beautifully on the wrist, while the warmth of the rose-gold case elevates an already elegant design.
