  • Owned by a Vietnam War Veteran, this fantastic example of a 1969 Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 is in excellent vintage condition with a sharp case, original brushing to the case sides and sharp assymetric lugs.

The original crown and pushers are in tact, and in good condition and its DON (Dot over 90) Tachymetre bezel is in good shape with just the right amount of character.

There were a couple of serial ranges during the later 60s Speedies, specifically the 69' reference 145.022 like this. One was serial range 2911xxx and the other 2967xxx.

This example being the latter range which. This dial reacted to UV and developed a unique brown or tropical hue. This was due to the type of dial laquer used and how it reacted to UV, moisture and tritium on the dial. Each one is unique and forms its own character.

The tone on this stepped dial can be seen in normal light as a deep chocolate colour, and then comes to life in various caramel/choclolate tones in direct light, it is highly attractive and sought after, and does demand a significant premium over a standard black dial Speedmaster.

We have paired this with either a green nato, or a texture honey calf.
