A super-cool and genuinely unique two-tone 1970s Zenith Victorious automatic, produced specifically for the Italian market. This example features the wonderfully unconventional date aperture positioned between five and six o’clock, a detail that immediately sets it apart from more conventional Zenith references of the era.
The watch retains its original signed crown and, charmingly, the original purple factory seal (“snot”) on the case back—clear indicators of its exceptionally well-preserved condition. Purchased NOS in Italy, this piece has clearly led a very sheltered life.
The fumé dial is the real star here, transitioning beautifully through warm brown, taupe, and silver tones depending on the light, giving the watch real depth and wrist presence. Housed in a perfectly proportioned 36mm case, it wears beautifully and feels effortlessly period-correct.
Powering the watch is the automatic calibre 2562 PC, running fantastically and ready to be enjoyed straight on the wrist. The watch is accompanied by its original Zenith box, a rare and desirable bonus.
An underrated gem from Zenith’s golden era—distinctive, charismatic, and perfect for the collector who appreciates originality and character over the obvious choice.
