Here is a rather rare iteration of the 7A38 Seiko Quartz dating to around 1983 with an unusal Genta style case design with this dodecagon bezel with the Royal Oak style applied bolts.
The 80s were a nostalgic times of my youth and brought more focus to the heavy tonal blacks and greys of technologies such as IBM, Walkman and Apple. The chronograph was seldom analog in this era but digital, but during the 80's Seiko designed the first analog quartz chronograph.
The Seiko Chronograph 7A38 was one of the first quartz chronographs produced.
The taupe/grey dial is attractive against the deep pops of black around the tachymeter and subdials.
This model features an integrated bracelet wiht SQ (Seiko Quartz) on its clasp.
The watch is in top condition for its age showing light wearing marks only. The case measures around 36mm.
