A very rare 1990s Rolex 14270 Explorer with tritium T Swiss T dial "Blackout" dial preserved in great original condition on its original bracelet, with box. The Blackout dials were the first batch of sapphire Explorers that proceeded the 1016, and were only made for a short run of 2 years. These early dials were only produced with silver "sparkle" script were only featured on the earliest batch of E serials and perhaps only produced for a short 6 month run. The main difference being the enamel explorer numerals, rather than the tritium filled.
The dial is in excellent condition with light patina, and no scratches.
The case is very honest with very hairline wearing marks and original factory brushing. It looks unpolished, but used.
The bracelet full length and is tight, excellent condition with a few light scratches on the clasp. It will fit a 7+ inch wrist.
The watch is in good running condition with good amplitude, service papers and watch history included (serviced at Rolex)
The watch doesn't come with box or papers.
The ultimate under the radar Explorer which combines the best of Rolex's clean and utiliterian design with the character base of a neo- vintage piece.
