The Rolex Datejust was first introduced in 1945 and has been one of the world's most iconic and quintessential models ever since. This particular reference, the 1603, was introduced by Rolex in 1959 and was produced up until the late 1970s. The 1603 reference denotes a stainless steel Datejust with a milled steel bezel, as opposed to its counterpart, the 1601, which featured a fluted gold bezel.
Here we have a quintessential Rolex Datejust with uncommon sunburst grey/taupe dial with quickset date function.
The reference 16014 is the best of both worlds combining vintage good looks, with the practicality of advancing the date with the crown.
The case is in good shape with some light wear, but overall good. The watch features a 18K white gold fluted bezel which stands out and reflects against the stainless steel case.
The dial is mesmerising with a ghost effect white script with a tilt lights of the wrist and a deep grey/taupe shade in others with constrasting original lume colouring which has aged stunningly.
The jubilee is a solid folded link bracelet 62510 with crisp clasp action and has a light stretch. It would extend over a 7.5 inch wrist.
Original open 6 date wheel in good condition.
Overall a superb watch and priced fairly in the market for a nice grey dial of this condition.
Don't miss out
