Ever since President Harry Truman wore a Vulcain Cricket during his time in office the Vulcain Cricket has graced other presidents wrists, and was given to every president in the past 60 years as their inauguration or special presidency gift. Impressive for a small Swiss watchmaking brand.

This example is probably one of the nicest dial and condition worthy examples out there. The case is also excellent and sharp, showing all its angles. 

The fact the luminous has aged to such a perfect deep hue and is so even is a testament to its easy life. Most likely sparingly used judging by the overall shape and beauty of a watch that is over 70 years of age. 

Vulcain introduced the Cricket in 1947—the first alarm wristwatch of its kind. While not technically the first alarm watch to the market, the Cricket was certainly the loudest. It was the product of five years of R&D, and featured a separate caseback to allow the alarm function to ring loud and clear with a sound not unlike the chirp of a cricket. It’s been the company’s flagship model ever since.
