1969 Zenith El Primero was the first in-house automatic chronograph produced in 1969. Rolex thought so much of it, that they used it in their 16520 Rolex Daytona.
A movement that ticks at 36,000 beats per hour and is a high beat frequency movement.
This example, the reference A384 has a triple registered dial which features what was considered a design falt in the paint laquer on the subdials, causing them to react with UV rays, thus turning them into a deep chocolate brown colour. This phenomenon is particularly sort after with collectors because of its attractiveness and unique character. This is particularly clear under direct sun light.
The 37.5 mm stainless steel case excluding original logo crown is in excellent vintage condition. Showing a sharp, angular finish and brushing on the case. The caseback is also in excellent condition with a clear case back serial engraving.
