For the longest time I can remember I have not had one of these 135.015 Omega Geneve Admiralty's cross my path! And now, after all these years I can see what i've been missing! A true vintage gem.
Fristly, these were released in 1968 with our example dating to around the 1970s with a 32 million serial, and interesting time for Omega. This watch appears almost Military in it's style, with the crown guards, for ease of use, but it wasn't ever an issued watch, instead it was positioned as a light Diver style watch.
The case, developed by EPSA (Ervin Piquerez SA), known for creating waterproof cases like the Super Compressor, showcases a unique engraving on the inside of the case back, resembling a deformed diving bell.
The case is one of the best parts for me, brushed steel finish, crown guards, with a lyre lug effect, with great lug to lug spread across the wrist, making it appear larger than 35,5mm's.
There were several variants of this watch. The one we have here is unusual with this brown tone, as typically, these came in either a matte black dial with red accents or a white with red accents. This example features a combination of deep tropical brown, and that splash of orange seconds, and the signature model Red Anchor! The dial is the real showstopper here, and the lume perfectly preserved.
This is a manual wind watch housing the cal. 601. in beautiful condition. It is has strong amplitude and is keeping good time.
This example is all original and even has the original plexi.
A rare and unique watch from the best years of Omega design. You will probably not see another one, especially in this condition. It is truly in collector condition.
