  • Dating to 1972, as denoted by serial and the original Rolex Oyster bracelet fitted to the watch, this handsome Tudor Prince Oysterdate reference 7024/0 represents one of the most attractive and undervalued jumbo Oyster designs of the era.

Measuring approximately 38mm, the watch possesses all the purposeful proportions and strong wrist presence associated with the vintage Rolex Milgauss line, yet carries its own distinct Tudor identity. The beautifully balanced dial features silver gilt Tudor Prince Oysterdate script beneath the applied shield logo at 12, while the uncommon faceted “Eiffel Tower” hour markers give the watch a sharper, more architectural aesthetic seldom encountered on this reference.

The true star of the watch, however, is its superb deep grey sunburst dial, which transforms dramatically depending on the light, ranging from charcoal to metallic graphite tones. Combined with the warm ageing and subtle patina throughout, it creates a wonderfully characterful and versatile everyday sports watch.

The condition is excellent overall. The case retains strong, defined lugs with visible factory faceting, suggesting the watch has avoided excessive polishing over the decades. The case back engraving remains crisp and free from personal inscriptions, while the original Rolex Oyster bracelet remains impressively tight with very little stretch.

Mechanically, the watch is running strongly with healthy amplitude and good timekeeping.

These jumbo Tudor Oyster references are becoming increasingly appreciated as collectors recognise just how closely they mirror the quality, proportions, and robustness of their Rolex counterparts — often at a fraction of the price. Finding examples with this level of preservation, attractive dial patina, and honest originality is becoming markedly more difficult.

We are delighted to offer this superb example today.
