Produced in 1963, the Tudor Ranger 7965 was released as Tudors answer to the ledendary Rolex Explorer 1016. It had no date function.
It was up until 1965 when the 7996 with date window was produced, for one year only, and gave that added functionality. The cyclops date window become iconic feature in Tudor & Rolex's armoury.
This example, with matte dial and applied tritium luminous, is simply put, stunning. The watch features an outer gilt minute track with some slight tropical tones.
The desirable spade hand hour hand is a unique feature to the dial, and the small rose emblem a rare variant of the Ranger model.
The watch comes paired with its original 6635 rivet stretch bracelet in excellent condition with matching 66' date inside the clasp.
The red leather box is also a nice addition and completes this package.
Overall one of the nicest Rangers out there.
The Ranger originated in the 1960s and was dedicated to the spirit of adventure and exploration.
