In our opinion the Omega Constellation Pie Pan in stainless steel is one of the most beautiful, and perfectly executed vintage watches from the 60s era.
The most important factor for collectors with these watches is that they show their true angles and lines and remain largely unpolished, especially the lugs. We would rather see some dings, and scars than an overpolished, soft case...Sadly, the majority of them were taken to a polishing machine by dealers and bad watchmakers causing them to lose the definition of those superb "dog legged" angles.
The case on this example, however, is without one of the best we have ever seen in many years. The facets are thick and well defined, they are what a true representation of a Pie Pan Dog legged Connie should be.
The Pie Pan was designed by the great Gerald Genta, who was also responsible for the Audemars Piguet "Royal Oak" design and the IWC Ingenieurs to name a couple.
This example has an excellent, perfectly preserved sunburst silver dial and applied steel indexes and date aperture with cyclops. It also has the very desirable crosshair dial design.
The Caliber 564 automatic is fully serviced and adjusted to 5 positions and times, chronometer rated with quickset date (pull out the crown two positions to adjust.) This is one of the most practical and reliable movements out there. And easy to service by. most good watchmakers.
The watch comes on a staineess steel original 1506 Omega beads of rice bracelet.
A rare find in top condition. One of the very best we have ever seen, and will seldom see again in this condition.
