1966 Omega Reference | 166.020 | “Technic Dial”
Dating to 1966, this Omega reference 166.020 represents one of the more intriguing variations within the model line. Powered by the automatic caliber 562 with 24 jewels, this reference was offered with a number of dial configurations over its production run — most commonly in silver or black.
Seldom seen, however, is this non-lume example featuring the striking target red crosshair, known among collectors as the Technic Dial. The design exudes a subtle modernity while retaining the refined, clean lines emblematic of mid-1960s Omega aesthetics.
The watch is housed in a perfectly proportioned stainless-steel case, complemented by its original knurled Omega-signed crown and original plexiglass. While the black-dial variant is occasionally encountered, the white Technic dial remains significantly rarer, particularly in such outstanding condition.
This example ranks among the finest preserved white-dial Technics we’ve encountered — a superb and collectible piece certain to delight even the most discerning Omega enthusiast.
