Gallet produced some of the most technically precise and exciting designs of the 40s and 50s period.
The clamshell design was the first series waterproof chronograph comprising of four screws at each lug clamping the caseback to provide the perfect waterproof seal.
The "Flying officer" was named after president Truman who was gifted one by his colleagues.
We are excited to offer probably one of, if not the nicest examples seen on the market. The dial speaks for itself in terms of condition with near perfect preservation.
There are only a handful of examples known to exist in collectors hands.
These are exquisite watches and are works of art and horological craftmenship.
Please see attached images of President Truman wearing his early black dial version.
