Up for grabs is an incredibly well preserved example of the 1st execution Heuer Autavia 2446c with flawless inverted panda dial and crisp unpolished case.  This watch carries the venerable valjoux 72 column wheel chronograph movement, and has a great wrist presence, measuring in at 40mm excluding it's original, signed Heuer crown. This really is one versatile vintage sports chronograph. The watch is unobtrusive, and fits well under the cuff, whilst providing that classic look, only a Heuer can pull off.. The watch uses a compression style "snap back" case which is held together by big c-clip. The movement becomes more sealed the more water pressure it has. The watch was originally produced for racing drivers and pilots alike. This Autavia is what is known as a classic vintage sports chronograph, in every sense of the word. And the simple, yet attractive triple register layout is really a head turner. This is probably one of the nicest examples we have ever seen in the metal, everything is original, and the watch looks like it was lightly used, with hardly any visible wear, the dial and patination being the most beautiful aspect, but, then again the conditon of the case, the facets and bezel also don't fail to impress. The case back has some slight wear which is common on these. The one Autavia to own, and values can only rise for top conditoon examples, such as this.
