Wakmann Gigandet produced some of the coolest and interesting chrongraphs throughout the 60s and early 70s.
This Wakmann is aptly named the "Big Boy" by a well known collector @watchfred on Instagram because of the array of variations made by Wakmann/Gigandet it needed something that would stand alone.
These Wakmann have a similar look and shape to the 2nd execution Heuer Autavias, which had many variants and movements.
This example is the standard 40mm case with thick rotating bezel and short thick lugs giving it a suprising comfort on the wrist.
The case is full stainess steel and houses a workhorse valjoux 7733 movement running well with strong amplitude.
The dial is a vintage black colour which we don't see too often (they came in blue and grey too..)
The case reference is 1382 which seems common among this model variant.
It is paired with a tanned leather nato.
