Recent surges in vintage sports chronographs have brought further attention to some interesting and overlooked models, which stylistically, managed to bring a lot to the table in terms of functionality and style. This Movado Subsea line possess all those charms, and more! The first thing to notice is that striking ‘gloss black’ silver gilt dial in great condition, really pleasing on a watch that's 50+ years old. The inverted “panda ‘dial has clean white contrasting textured subdials with those ‘serpent’ hands, just incredible.
The 35.5mm Francois Borgel patented case (FB famously made cases for Patek Philippe amongst other premium brands) has ‘sub sea’ inscribed on the caseback. Inside is the original dust cover. The case is unpolished, and the original bowler crown has the Movado logo at its centre. This is a lesser-seen variant of the sub sea model, and rare to find in this sort of condition, I would strike while you can, as this one is not to be missed.
The watch comes on an original stainless steel Movado signed bracelet.
