  • Up for your perusal is this incredible 1973 Rolex Explorer with stunning deep pumpkin patina dial, all original with mark IV dial and matching original luminous hands.

    This watch is essentially untouched and unpolished showing its light marks with pride. The case has never been refinished at Rolex. The owner had the watch servived for many years when he bought it to sail in a Regatta because he thought it was a "tough watch". It was purchased preowned in 1975 but the serial dates it to 1973.

    The dial is stunning and shows no scratches or marks to the matte finish.

    The original owner kept all the paperwork and booklets that came with the watch and also the inner green box.

    This is a very hard watch to find now, and I haven't seen many with this beautiful ageing. The Explorer is one of the most iconic watches made by Rolex even after so many years.

    It has been fully overhauled and comes with a 6 months guarantee.
